Call for Members

The Social Research and Planning Council is looking for interested individuals to serve on the Council from Perth County and Huron County.

Background

The Social Research and Planning Council, a division of United Way of Perth-Huron, is dedicated to the collection, analysis and distribution of information relating to local social trends and issues. It is our hope that with this information, social and human service agencies and funding partners can make informed decisions regarding courses of action and implementation resources.

The Social Research and Planning Council is a natural and strategic evolution of the Perth County Community Planning Council (PCCPC), which had been active in Perth County for 15 years up until 2002. SRPC is currently comprised of a steering committee of representatives from local planning bodies, funding partners, government, service providers and citizens.

The Council approaches its work in two ways:

The commissioning of research into specific issues as identified by the community

Providing access to research reports created by local, regional, national and international agencies

Financial Support is provided by:

The United Way of Perth-Huron

The City of Stratford, County of Perth and the Town of St. Marys – Through the Department of Social Services

Obligation:

Council members serve on a staggered term basis for three years, with regular monthly meetings.  Council members are asked to be ambassadors within the community, speaking and making presentations at various community events on SRPC activities and reports.

If you or someone you know would be interested in serving your community in this fashion please step forward and contact:
